We have had a fun-filled month, since our last blog...

Nate had a blast with the Christian youth group on their ski/snowboarding weekend. He chose snowboarding and discovered an entire set of muscles that he never met before. He was quite sore! Life is all about baseball for him. He has set to it like he did with dinosaurs years back. I expect him to know about all the trades and what they mean to each team and how spring practice is progressing. Now if we can get that mental energy turned into physical energy...

Teri is a Junior Girl Scout now and having a blast. There was a combined event with the local Korean Girl Scouts this past weekend that she really enjoyed. Teri had a belt testing in Tae kwon do and did very well. At the pace they are at, I expect both she and Nate to be black belts before we leave Korea next summer.

Chris had his 6th birthday. They have a large indoor activity center for ages infant to about 10, where he had his birthday party. It is a bit like Chuck-e-cheese, but without the video games and with more educational stations set up. All of the kids love it, even Nate, though he is usually on kid duty, as he is much to big to do too much playing. We are in the beginning stages of speech therapy for Chris. We just held the initial meeting with the school speech therapist and his teacher. It is something we asked about in the Fall. The teacher kept an eye/ear on Chris since then and agrees that speech therapy would be useful. Chris is not behind academically, but has difficulty speaking clearly - without stopping or repeating - when in front of a group, when excited/upset, and at times just normally. We pray that all goes well...

Joey is a happy, almost three year old. He has finally expressed an occasional, fleeting interest in potty training. Is there really light at the end of the tunnel? :) Having had diapers as a permanent item on our grocery list for the past 13 years, it is hard to imagine not having to buy any. Of course, I probably just jinxed myself... :) With Joey's birthday the day after mine, Chip and I are debating on how to celebrate. We might combine the two, or go for a smaller celebration on mine. As long as I have my chocolate, I am okay!

Chip and I are both well. We are looking at the future and beginning to talk about what life after the military might bring. As it is still a good five years out, God willing, we have time to do some research and do some prep work/schooling if need be. I would love to come home, but may not be able to. It all depends on what Chip is able to do and what people are willing to accept.

We love you all! God bless, Mona
