Time for the monthly update! The post here celebrates Halloween on the closest Saturday, if the actual date falls on a school night. Thus, we had a "cereal killer", a Cat-in-the-hat, a knight, and Batman, roaming the streets last night. Unfortunately, we did not take a picture, as typically, we were running around like crazy right before things kicked off. Chip took the kids out and about and I stayed and handed out candy. What made it nice was how it was organized. One of the neighborhood families in the quad suggested the adults meet together in the middle and hand out candy together. It made for great fellowship and a lot of laughs. The post also invites children from local orphanages to participate. The look on a Korean child's face when they realize they are getting candy - a lot of candy - for free just because they are a kid was great.

Nate has progressed another rank in Boy Scouts. He threw his name in the hat to become a Patrol Leader. He did not get picked for that, but did get picked to be a den chief. So, he will be working with Cub Scouts, which I think is a good fit for him. Otherwise, he is doing well in school, and is enjoying tae kwon do and what's left of baseball season. Nate is now officially as tall as I am. I am scared to see what will happen when he hits his growth spurt!

Teri has decided to pick up on tae kwon do. The Master here thinks she shows great promise. She has picked up a friend in school, who lives a bit away. The two of them are in the same Sunday school class, so they get together on the weekends when possible. I have been slacking and need to find out who the local Girl Scout leader is and sign her up.

Chris has lost his first and second teeth. The first tooth came out while he was at Kindergarten. It was there, and then it wasn't. His teacher thinks it might have fallen out while they were on the playground. The second one came out in the middle of the night. Chris came in all upset, thinking he missed the tooth fairy. Needless to say, she returned the second night! Chris also started tae kwon do. At first, he wasn't so sure, but now loves it.

Joey is a bouncy, talkative two year old. He rotates between wanting to be a Jedi, Batman, or Thomas the Tank Engine around the house. He is doing better with his playmate (Chris) going to school every day. The mosquito problem we hoped was only a Seoul phenomenon followed us here. Joey looks like a pincushion - he must have sweet blood.

Chip and I are doing well. We are learning from last year and are starting to look ahead to the Christmas season. We have pulled out the saved clothes and restocked Chris' and Joey's drawers. Nate and Teri luck out every year and get new things. Chip is enjoying spending time on the computer, playing with his friends from college and high school. I go back and forth with reading and cross-stitching. I do have to look at possible projects for a special sister-in-law who's expecting her first child next year. :)

Here are a couple of pictures for your enjoyment! Love, Mona
